It’s been a long time since I went to my high school prom (I’ll spare myself the embarrassment and won’t tell you exactly how long it’s been), and when I look back, I wish I had done a few things differently.
I wish I had said “yes” to the boy who I had a crush on instead of rejecting him for fear that I would star in a real-life rendition of Carrie.
I would have gotten a limo and would have indulged in all the things that you’re supposed to indulge in when riding in the back of a limo.
And I would have worn more comfortable shoes…Chuck Taylors, to be specific.
So for all you high school students who are looking forward to your upcoming prom, heed my advice. Head over to Converse’s website and check out their killer shoes that are sure to match your tux or dress.
Ladies, there are Chuck Taylors in virtually every color, so you can get the pair that perfectly matches your dress, whether it’s sunset orange or plum purple. My favorite? Chuck Taylor Premium Sequins, a simple low-rise Chuck Taylor sneaker adorned with silver sequins and sure to give your ensemble a little bling-bling.
Gentlemen…what’s more classic than a sleek, black tuxedo? It will go with your date’s gown, even if she’s chosen a less-than-flattering color such as puke green or glaring gold. And a pair of Chuck Taylor Leather shoes will give your tux that extra class (and comfort) it will need to get you through the night.
So what kind of Chuck Taylors do you think you’ll be sporting for your prom this year?

So I’m not what you’d call a “girly-girl”. I rarely wear skirts or dresses. I live in my blue jeans. I take fifteen minutes to get ready. I don’t know the difference between an exfoliator and regular cleanser. And my favorite pairs of shoes are my various, brightly-colored Converse All-Stars.
But every once in a while, I want to strap on some stilettos, pull on a short dress, slap on some red lipstick, and feel like a chick should feel…but without losing what makes me, me.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found these high-heeled Converse-esque shoes at my local costume shop. I bought them immediately and pulled them on, feeling like a girly tomboy the entire time.
Now, my only question to Converse is this—when are you going to make some high-heeled Chuck Taylors so I can have an official pair instead of these knock-offs?
So, here’s the deal. My chucks started getting the kind of dirty that you don’t want to get (smelly) and summer is coming up. I threw my Chucks in the laundry machine and my roommate starts freakin’ out. He says “That’s counter productive”. He things that Chucks should be worn dirty, which I agree, but sometimes you need to perform some maintenance. Whether it’s ironing your shoe laces or giving your shoes the occasional wash. It’s a necessity.

If there is one thing we have been looking out for, it’s fly apparel that matches our favorite shoe. We’ve been dablling quite a bit, so in the meantime, be sure to check out the Please Potedo clothing line.
Your blank canvas
The Chuck Taylor All Star is recognized around the world as a symbol of originality and self-expression. The rubber-soled pioneers that put the ‘squeak’ in basketball have been an off-the-court favorite of rock stars and rebels for the past 60 years. And now, you can design your own pair.
Converse now allows you to design your own glow in the dark sneaker through Converse.com. Turn the lights out and start designing!
So, maybe I am in the wrong here, but why would you utilize a brand to spread the word when there is no direct relation? I just don’t get it. Regardless of the situation, we can all agree that the Chuck Taylor shoe has become more than just a sneaker, but an icon. I think this image says it all.
